The movie Ishtakamya is by noted moviemaker Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar. The director has made a reentry into the cinemas with his latest movie which aroused sufficient expectation among the Kannada movie fans. The movie is based on a love triangle and draws its inspiration from a novel by the same name. The present generation has not seen many movies of the kind and particularly a movie from a novel. No sooner than you finish reading the review, you will know what kind of movie it is.
Plot
The love triangle happens as a revelation in the movie, and it happens just before the interlude. There is romance between a doctor and his patient. Numbers in beautiful locales are seen happening at various junctures in the movie. There are local slangs occurring throughout the movie, and there are also rituals shown. Just before the interlude, the other woman in the doctor’s life makes entry. After the interlude, the plot turns interesting. The climax is as commercial as it could be.

Analysis:
The movie happens to be a musical story. The story has sufficient weight to it since it draws inspiration from a novel. But there could have been more brevity to the narrative. If the dialogues were better, the movie could have been more interesting. The numbers in the movie are melodious enough, and even a poetry has been done as a number in the movie.

The movie is a feast to the audiences given by the director, unlike his previous three movies. Definitely a palatable dish for the weekend.
