Plot: The story starts with three friends Seenu (Niranjan Deshpande), Vishnu (Vikram) and Sundara (Chikkanna) heading towards Karwar from Bengaluru to attend Rocky’s (Sunil) birthday. Aditi (Disha) joins them on this road trip. She is a happy go life girl who loves traveling and photography. All the three friends fell for her for their different reasons and try to woo her during this road trip. On reaching Kanwar, Disha joins them for the birthday party and the birthday boy, Rocky lusts her and try to use her in the drunken mood. Vikram and Niranjan revoke this and in the process, Rocky is injured.
After getting out of danger, Rocky gives the statement to police that his friends made an attempt to murder. How will the boys prove them innocent and whom Disha will choose forms the rest of the plot?
Analysis: This is Chandramohan's debut venture. For a debutant director, the movie is quite good and has a freshness. He has done well with the dialogues and narration. The story and relationships are kept simple, and any complexity is avoided. The movie comes under the comedy genre, and it won't disappoint you in that department. You will find many gags that tickle your fun bone. The casting director of the film has taken a risk by picking up the young cast for a debut director’s flick, but he has played his money on right cards as actors have beautifully played their respective characters.
In Technical department, Cinematography is a plus. In the first half of the movie the Screenplay also is good but loses its track after the interval. Background score is interesting but could have been better. Visuals are stunning.
Star Performances: The flick casts the young talent, and all have carried their roles well. The three friends Vikram, Niranjan, and Chikkanna, suits their characters. Disha looks glamorous and attractive as Aditi, but we expect a little more from her. Bullet's comedy and Sunil's macho look leaves an impact. Only Michel Madhi let us down as he tries to be funny but is unable to generate laughter. Director and writers deserve the credit for sketching each and every character well. Although we have earlier seen movies where few friends fall for a single girl such as Masti etc., you won't feel the script predictable.
What's there ????
1. Debut director's direction has a freshness in it which interests audiences.
2. The acting department has excelled and uplifted the flick.
3. Cinematographers have done a good job.
4. Visuals captured during the road trip are breathtaking.
5. The fun quotient is 100 %.
What's not there ????
1. Music of the movie is not as good as other departments.
2. Michel Midi is not as convincing in his role as other actors.
3. Screenplay loses it track as the film proceeds.
Verdict 'Bombay Mitai' is a funny flick and a family entertainer which has more than story to rejoice and it worth's your money as well as time.
