Plot
Apoorva is a young tenant in Bengaluru who hides his failure in postgraduation from his mother. He relies on his love interest Swapna for support. Apoorva has a unique control to control blinking. However, this blessing becomes a curse for him, when a mysterious old man informs him about his father’s survival from a supposed accident.
Star Performances
For a debut project, Srinidhi Bengaluru has chosen a rather unique subject. What’s better, he has hit a home run with this project.
Dheekshith Shetty as the confused and frustrated Apoorva aka Appu does a phenomenal job with his performance. He almost carries the entire film on his shoulders.
Analysis
Time travel is not exactly the best option for any Indian filmmaker. To do that in a regional film is even tougher. However, Srinidhi Bengaluru had other ideas. He came out with ‘Blink’.
As unique as the concept is, the narrative is also brilliant, which almost affixes you to your seat. The good part about any thriller is that it should keep the viewers guessing until the very end, and ‘Blink’ does a superb job at that. Most of the time, not many would be able to digest the fact that this project is made by a debutant. The transition between the past and the present is also phenomenal, something even ‘acclaimed filmmakers’ sometimes miss completely.
However, Srinidhi Bengaluru does a great job with both the camera as well as the script. He ensures that the audience is far from bored with the story. The way he steers the narrative forward is something aspiring filmmakers can learn from. There might be some issues with the pace, but the overall product is not only engaging but also intriguing until the very end.
The acting performances are like the cherry on the icing: it only adds to the brilliance of the movie. Dheekshith Shetty is the star performer of this movie. As the awkward protagonist who demands answers to his tormented past, he does a great job. The supporting cast also does a phenomenal job, especially Suresh Anagalli, etc., who shines as the mysterious man.

‘Blink’ is the time travel movie done right. Not many expected this from a Kannada movie, but Srinidhi Bengaluru delivers surprisingly well with his debut venture. The acting performances only add further to the charm of this innovative film. You must watch this film at once if you’re a science fiction buff, or even remotely interested in time travel.      Â
