Plot
Vidya is a single mother and an autism expert. Her daughter, Tanvi, is an autistic child. As Vidya had to attend a conference in the US, she doesn’t want to leave her daughter with anyone, except for her grandfather, Colonel Raina. Initially, Raina is unable to connect with Tanvi. Vidya tries her best to make him understand autism and bridge the gap between Tanvi and Raina. Slowly, he understands. Soon, Tanvi learns about her father, an army man, who died during his service. Inspired by her father’s story, Tanvi wants to become a soldier. In her journey, she received help from Brigadier Joshi, Raaz Saab, her music teacher, and Major Kailash Srinivasan. What did they do? What did she achieve? The rest of the story deals with this.
Star Performance
Shubhangi Dutt excelled as Tanvi. She didn’t act, but lived as Tanvi. Her minute expressions are the biggest pluses. Anupam Kher once again delivered a grounded performance. Jackie Shroff, Boman Irani, and Arvind Swamy appear in a short time, but their characters stay with the audience even after the film ends. Their performances are so good. Pallavi Joshi is okay with her performance.
Analysis
The first half is tight, and the character introduction was good. It didn’t exaggerate autism or make it dramatic, just showcased the reality. The emotional scenes are decent without over-projecting anything. While comparing to the first half, the second half is lengthy, yet it didn’t make us feel bored. The visuals are decent, and the BGM by Keeravani gels well with the film’s mood. The film showcases autism, the army, as well as the connection between people.
