Plot
Kachchi Sadak revolves around the story of the anti-hero Randhir Singh. Starting with his childhood, we see that Randhir is subjected to emotional torment in his dysfunctional family. He loses his father at a young age, but that’s not the only cause of his suffering later on. His mother is soon remarried solely so her son can have a father. This stepfather turns out to be sadistic and cruel and only increases the pain of the mother and son. He constantly bullies and ill-treats his wife and stepson. Because of such a chaotic home, Randhir ends up following the wrong crowd, takes to the streets and joins a gang, engaging in reckless violence and illegal activities which has a drastic negative effect on his life and future. However, we also see how his witty, aggressive comebacks and bold nature are charming aspects of his personality, a part of him that intrigues some seniors of his school, thereby forming a bond and a strong friendship between them. Desperate to earn money and help his mother, Randhir also gets involved in a liquor trade where he makes fast money while making many enemies. He later gets a girl-friend, because of whom he reduces his involvement in violent activities. Nevertheless, he engages in violence for the last time but this time it is for a good cause. Despite his good intentions, he tragically ends up in jail.
Star Performance
Rahul Singh plays the son’s role excellently. His role stands out more, as it is not one of a typical protagonist. He performs particularly well in the action scenes and his anger and frustration are accurately shown through Rahul’s flawless acting. Mukesh Tiwari also acts flawlessly as the sadistic and chauvinistic step father.
Analysis
The dialogues for Randhir Singh are funny and witty, such as his aggressive comebacks to his seniors and other adults. Randhir also starts as a timid boy but grows into a formidable character which shows development and growth in the storyline. Some scenes have background music that is unnecessarily theatrical. In the plot, the protagonist is both good and bad. That is, engaging in illegal activities and also engaging in violence for a ‘good cause’. This character of his makes him an anti-hero, a character that is inherently good but bad at the same time.

Verdict
There is a lot of action and violence in this movie but it has an outdated quality to its action scenes like any old movie would. Recommended for people who like classic old action movies and won’t mind the poor quality of the action scenes.
