Plot
Rajjo (Madhuri), referred as Didi by villagers, runs an ashram, where the dress code is pink, This sanctuary for abused women gives education to girls and teach women to fight and stand up for the right. Rajjo leads Gulaab Gang, a group of activists, who fights for social injustice like domestic violence, the dowry system, rape, electricity matters, and education.

The movie revolves around Rajjo, who fights a widow politician Sumitra (Juhi Chawla) to bring her down. Sumitra is a crooked and shrewd politician who is engaged in all the wrong activities and use people for her own benefits.
Analysis
Gulaab Gang is not Gulaabi Gang. This movie is not based on Sampat Pal’s life though both have pink color as their dress code and believe in women empowerment. They are different in a way, where former is a work of fiction and latter is a documentary.
There is nothing new in Gulaab Gang except the fact that this time both, the hero and the villain, is a female. Otherwise it has the same old story between Good v/s evil. The first half is off-track, and there is much to be seen only in second half. Madhuri Dixit-Juhi Chawla face-off is must watch.
Star Performances
It is a pleasure to watch Juhi Chawla who has played the role of the corrupt politician with such an easy. She has done justice to her role by neither playing it dull nor too loud. She is just perfect! Undoubtedly, Madhuri is a superb actor. She has perfectly portrayed Rajjo’s role. It is delight to watch “dhak-dhak” girl performing terrific action sequence.
Divya Jagdale, Priyanka Bose, and Tannishtha Chatterjee are admirable and has performed wonderfully.
What’s there?
The screenplay have some impactful episodes, which brilliantly shows the torture a rural Indian woman has to go through. Madhuri’s excellent fight sequences and Juhi’s performance of a toxic politician with an infectious smile will leave you in disbelief.
What’s not there?
The story is all about women and it would have made a stronger impact had there been no pointless songs as such movies are something beyond naach-gaana.
Verdict
Gulaab Gang is an average movie. It is watchable only for the impeccable performance of our iconic stars, Madhuri, and Juhi.
