Well, a baddie turning into an “enlightened” person is surely something that garners interest. Golden Baba has taken that route and now let’s see how the movie has turned out to be.

Abhimanyu Singh is under the constant watch of the CM for his crookedness. The CM assigns the job of getting him caught to Ravi Kishen, who is a sincere cop, but Abhimanyu manages to escape. Benaras is the new found resort of Abhimanyu, and he bounces upon various babas. Pankaj Tripathi, who is a fraud himself, sees Abhimanyu and brainwashes Abhimanyu to be religious. In the meantime, Sanjay Mishra is a propagator who has large followers. Eventually our Global Baba Abhimanyu becomes instrumental in Mishra becoming a big name in the area.

Akhilendra Mishra aspires to become an MLA, and he resorts to solving the public’s woes to reach his ambition. Global Baba raises a construction in the land of Mishra that irks the latter. And naturally these two become enemies. Sandeepa Dhar is a media person in a channel that is under the management of Mishra. Global Baba, seeing her commitment, wants to use her services and hence gives her a decent amount to join his channel. And here comes the twist in the film. What does Sandeepa Dhar do? Is Mishra successful in catching Global Baba? Watch the movie to get answers to these questions.

Star Performances

Abhimanyu Singh slips into his character at a point when people wonder about his acting prowess. Pankaj Tripathi excels in his comedy. Sanjay Mishra has given a sincere performance.

Many Hindi movies have deliberately shown their annoyance at the fake godman and their conniving acts. The recent example is the Aamir Khan starrer PK. However, when there is blind faith what happens? This is candidly shown in Global Baba. Also, the way the director, Manoj Tiwari, showcases miracles and the formation of cults in a short span is commendable.

What’s there?

The intention of the movie deserves appreciation.

What’s not there?

  • The cinematography is poor.
  • The dubbing could have been way too better.

The movie can be watched for its contemporary message.
