A captivating story about an idler Devanand Kariappa, who wears a mask over his world of desires and stands on his decision to become a saniyasi.

PLOT : Devanand Kariappa, the role played by Arjun Mathur Arjun Mathur is an Indian actor and was born on 18 >> Read More... , who sells his ancestors property (reclining Coffee estate in Coorg) even after his mother strongly stands against his decision. He journeys back in search of his past after his mother’s death. His mother’s last line that says “Tu Meri Raakh Bakhaarne Ke Layak Bhi Nahi Hai” that hits him hard and impacted on the rest of the film. His attempt to create a connection with his past life to make a peaceful present brings him to his own estate that is currently owned by a couple named Srinivas Panicker and Anika ( Mohan Kapoor Mohan Kapoor is a famous Indian Bollywood actor wh >> Read More... and Garg). The couple who was passionate about coffee plantation but fails in execution. They were looking for an expert and where they end up meeting Dev.

The story fires up when the director reveals that Dev and Anika had an early life where they loved eachother unconditionally. Spaced out flashback scenes were organised well to disclose Dev and Anika’s past life. Love finds a way to rejoice the life and a reason to once again recreate Dev and Anika.

STAR PERFORMANCE: Best picked artist who delivered their role in a perfect way. All the three suited their respective roles. Often disturbed and childish Dev was impressive. Nevertheless, Garg was natural with her expressive voice that was an added compliment. Mohan Kapoor's performance was enchanting that dominates his balding look.

WHAT’S THERE: Location of Coorg is shot beautifully. Majestic Landscape shots that grab our vision. With just three casts the story is treated well in a dramatic way paced along with good music by Prasad. Well organised in placing the scenes in order to convey a meaning even though it was not placed in logical order.

WHAT’S NOT THERE? The story appears to wander in search of the main purpose, so does Dev with his life. The written story and execution still needed something that needs to be connected. The dialogues and conversation seemed less poetic and too monotonous. Few scenes seemed to take longer time that looked awkward and is stretched purposely in order to add on time.

VERDICT: From a debut director, it’s a surprise material that we weren’t disappointed as he produced what he promised in the trailers and promos. Perfect Drama if it was shorter in duration. Well portrayed drama without any masala.
