Behen Hogi Teri is the romantic comedy entertainer with Rajkummar Rao and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. Besides the lead cast, the film has Gautam Gulati, Gulshan Grover, “ Ranjeet,” Kamlesh Gill, Darshan Jariwala, Ninad Kamat, Mrunal Jain, Herry Tangri and Reena Aggarwal in the supporting roles. The music composition is by Rishi Rich, Jaidev Kumar, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Amjad-Nadeem, Kaushik-Akash-Guddu and R.D. Burman. Ajay K Pannalal directed the film and it is produced by Tony D'souza, Amul Vikas Mohan and Nitin Upadhyaya. Viraj Singh is the cinematographer.

Plot

Gattu and Binny are neighbors. Gattu, who has not completed his studies, is in love with his neighbor Binny. As they are neighbors, both the families move closer and everyone sees Gattu and Binny as brother and sister. Gattu fails to express his love on Binny and he is afraid to speak about this to her family. Gattu’s friend Bhura is rumored to be Binny’s lover. Did Binny really love Bhura? Did Gattu get the guts to express his love for Binny? The answer forms the crux of the script.

Star Performance

Rajkummar Rao has performed his part well. Shruti Haasan doesn’t fit the role.

Analysis

Ajay K Pannalal makes his debut with Behen Hogi Teri. His cast selection is bad and the heroine doesn’t suit the role not even a percent. Only with the performance of Rajkummar, the story moves on. However, we couldn’t say that Ajay K Pannalal had chosen a bad script for his debut.

What’s There?

  • Rajkummar’s performance is good
  • The script is good but not the execution

What’s Not There?

  • Wrong casting is the biggest negative point in the film
  • Characterization of Shruti is unacceptable; she says that she doesn’t fear anyone and do whatever she likes, but when her family forces her to engage with an NRI, she accepts it
  • The subplot in the film is a big drawback; it overlaps and confuses the audiences

Verdict

Behen Hogi Teri is not a great movie to spend this weekend. If you have no movies to watch, then you could choose this.
