Priyanka Chopra sails on a journey of her lifetime. The role she takes in this movie is very powerful. The character Susanna just wants one thing in life - only love. The beautiful portrayal of the character, which is not at all an easy job, stands out. Supporting performances by the other actors are also outstanding. There’s not a single bit of a flaw in the performance of the actors though there might be, in Susanna's husband.
his film is a completely new cinematic experience. For a well-set director like Vishal Bharadwaj, a movie like 7 Khoon Maaf is the only step forward. The main positive of this film is the characterisation of Susanna - the woman who wants love. The other aspects of the cinematography and the soundtrack have been outstanding. Having composed the soundtrack himself, he has correctly designed it in such a way that it changes the mood correctly at appropriate times. The twist in the seventh husband, in the end, is completely unpredictable.
The film is not at all below par in any aspect. But the story does have a flaw in one aspect. The narrative of the film is episodic, which makes the story a bit predictable (although the twist couldn’t be predicted). This might bore the viewer in between.
7 Khoon Maaf is a completely different experience. This kind of a characterisation is rare in movies, especially in the present days. It’s a mix of humor and thriller. So, if you want to catch an eye on someone who is stuck in this real world by love, and not by the virtual barriers like smartphones and internet, this is the right movie for you.
