The plot builds a scenario where after 40 years of faking his death, Morrison corresponds with Manzarek (bandmate and the founder of 'The Doors'), from his hideout in the East African islands of Seychelles, asking to embark on one last journey in the name of their religion- rock and roll.
Following the death of Ray Manzarek, Tim Sullivan, the director, and writer of the movie adaptation, aims to capture the real “hippie” Jim in his depiction, deviating away from the image created by media and fans. Robby Krieger (lead guitarist of the band), Pablo Manzarek (Ray's son), and William Ross (composer, produced themes for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets amongst his most notable works), have been brought on as the executive producers for the film. The trio will also be producing the soundtrack for the motion picture.
Although, details about the cast and release date remain anonymous, the movie will be distributed by Alcon Entertainment, and is much anticipated as the plot is something every Door's fan has dreamed of.
