She was born to Janice Cooke, an accountant, and William Kendrick, a teacher. Her brother Michael Cooke Kendrick is an actor too. Anna Kendrick began her career at the young age of 12. She worked in the 1998 Broadway play 'High Society' 12.

Kendrick debuted in the film industry with her role of Fritzi in the 2003 movie- Camp. After she starred in the fantasy romance Twilight in 2008, she rose to fame. One of her most loved roles was that of Beca Mitchell in the 'Pitch Perfect' movie franchise.
