Plot
The story centres around a police officer named Thomas Lockhart who tries to tackle a case with his partners Winston Maddox and Holt. They were unable to crack the case. Prior to being hit by a train, the suspect foretells that Lockhart's wife will pass away while delivering birth. The same killing pattern reappears after nine years. Lockhart is shocked to find the same woman he believed had passed away nine years prior still alive. She manages to escape his hold once again this time. His obsession with the case begins to interfere with both his personal and professional life. Watch the film to see how the plot develops.
Star Performance
Thomas Lockhart was convincingly represented by Boyd Holbrook. Without the need for any color grading, his performance was faultless and perfectly captured every emotion. Michael C. Hall and Cleopatra Coleman had performed exceptionally well. The entire cast has been excellent in each of their roles.
Analysis
Though it has some minor issues with how it portrays the time gap, the science fiction film In the Shadow of the Moon has a solid plot. The music fits the mood of the film, and the cinematography is impressive. It is skillfully performed without boring the audience. The actors did a fantastic job. It is an investigative thriller with a clear presentation that avoids any ambiguity. It must be accepted that the direction is good.
