McDonagh, Farrell, and Ivanek have joined hands following a teaming up for In Bruges that hit the screens in 2008. The movie was produced by both the US and the UK. The movie had its premiere screened at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The movie hit the screens in US and Canada in October 2012, and subsequently got released in the UK in December 2012. The movie plot revolves around the character Marty done by actor Farrell. He faces many odds in his profession as a screenplay writer. He dreams of developing the screenplay for his venture Seven Psychopaths. Rockwell is Marty’s close associate. He is jobless, and a part-time actor who kidnaps dogs for ransom.

By hook or crook, he wants to help out Marty during his difficult times. He needs to be more focused on his job and needs to be highly motivated. There is yet another partner in crime, Hans, done by actor Walken. Something unexpected happens that comes with a twist in the story. The two partners in crime happen to steal the dog from a thug Charlie played by Harrelson. Charlie will do anything to get back his dog, and will even go to the extent of killing someone to achieve his end. Marty feels that it is a blessing in disguise, and he draws motivation to develop the movie.

The following scenes prove a excellent recipe for the movie he develops. McDonagh and Farrell are fun to watch. The lunacy that they carry out on screen is hilarious. The movie is an entertainer except for lewdness, gory scenes, and exposure in few scenes.
