Analysis: The movie is again a proof why Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are among the top directors of Hollywood. The story is sweet, and the duo has portrayed an emotional journey of a devastated man very efficiently. The slight pinch of comic in between the scenes keeps the environment light and protects the movie from solely becoming a sobbing life of a dumped man. People who have experienced such situations in the past will connect to the movie from the core of the heart. The direction is well responded with the strong performances of the stars and keeps the audience interested in the movie.

Star performances:  Steve Carell Steven John "Steve" Carell, born on August 16, 196 >> Read More... impresses the audience with his flawless acting. The way he expresses himself as an exhausted person running from his life in the movie makes the scenes realistic. Everytime he appears on the screen; he creates an excitement inside the viewer's mind. He has rocked every scene he is in and is damn impressive in the character of Jacob.

Christopher Beck and Nick Urata's background score isn't too impressive but will ring in your heads for a long time. The director duo keeps the movie firm and has given their best shot to make it more entertaining. However, the movie might seem a little off-balance sometimes, but it catches again in the next scene.

What's there:

1) Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Ryan Gosling, the presence of such big names in the movie is the reason enough to attract the crowd.

2) Appealing acting is there on the screen with every shot, and the audience is going to enjoy it.

What's not there:

1) The movie might seem a bit incomplete once you move out of the theater thinking the story behind Emily cheating on Cal.

Verdict: The movie entertains the audience, and you won't regret it watching.
