David and Vicki visit him for a weekend despite the overdoses, and Nic survives.
Star Performance
Steve Carell and Timothee Chalamet offer deeply felt work, bringing the story of father and son. The film flies around in time, unnecessarily cutting into flashbacks and forwards, and goes beyond confusing.
Analysis
Watching the film inspired by David Sheff’s book depicts a father's journey through his son’s addiction. Despite Nic’s addiction having a profound impact on the rest of his family, David becomes even more aware of how Nic’s addiction brought most of the ruin down on Nic himself. There are too many ups and downs where Nic won’t stop doing drugs, and his father continuously searches for him throughout the movie because he keeps disappearing from the house. Well, the music is excellent. All the actors and actresses did a fantastic job, and the main lead, Nic showed some great emotions through his acting skills.
