Plot:
The plot begins with the story of a happy family of a doll maker, Sam Mullins (Anthony LaPaglia), his wife (Miranda Otto), and his seven-year-old daughter Annabelle. The tragic death of their daughter in a car accident leaves the two of them all alone and miserable. Years later, they decide to take in a nun and six orphaned girls into their farmhouse in California. In the house, on the way upstairs, under lock and key, was a doll named Annabelle.
After continual annoyance from the children, the demon inside the doll awakens leading to an uncontrollable killing spree. The first target of the doll was Janice (Talitha Bateman) polio-affected kid who gets possessed by the demonic spirits of the doll and creates troubles for the other inmates of the house, especially little Linda (Lulu Wilson).
Analysis:
This movie explained how a child’s play item became an evil doll and caused troubles. Having watched the previous films would only help you understand the story better. Star performance:
Sanberg is the most thrilling director in this genre but requires good writers to back him up with his stories. Regarding the performance, only Bateman has done an outstanding job, changing from a quiet and gentle orphan to a possessed kid. The cast and crew have done a decent job in scaring the audience. The kids have done an appreciable job with their roles.

1. This film is a prequel and has successfully connected to all the other films.
2. Has dark horror and is well made.
3. The plot had the right amount of horror or maybe less of it.
What’s not there?
1. The poster of the film is too cliché, and though it answers the origin of the demonic doll, it contains many unnecessary scenes.
2. Very similar camera angles and loud sounds trying to scare people.
3. The premises of the filming are just like all the other films, an old haunted house where all the paranormal activities take place.
Verdict:
It is a horror film that could give you your worst nightmares. Altogether, for an audience who loves horror and spookiness, it is a good movie for a weekend getaway.
