In a recent interview, the director opened up on the ticket prices for movies, and why there is a huge difference between Bollywood and Tollywood. According to Anurag, there is room for every kind of movie in Tollywood at an affordable price, something which Bollywood clearly lacks.

The  reason why Tollywood has managed to maintain its popularity is because of the average ticket prices. Even if someone buys a luxury seat in a plush hall, it wouldn’t cost more than Rs. 250, irrespective of the movie being watched.

Unfortunately, that is not the case with Bollywood movies. The tactic of dynamic / blockbuster pricing for big ticket movies has backfired in many cases. This might also be a reason why people are avoiding Hindi movies, because the price of ticket and snacks are almost unaffordable for the masses. He also took a jibe at the producers, saying that they want to only make films that earn 500 to 800 crores. He is not completely wrong either, going by the recent dry spell that Bollywood is facing.
