Pawan Kalyan has a gripe with Tollywood.
The Telugu superstar, who is now the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh, recently revealed in an interview, that the Telugu film industry is not doing enough to acknowledge the contribution of the state of Andhra Pradesh.
According to him, despite a year of TDP returning to power under the leadership of N Chandrababu Naidu, none of the representatives of Tollywood have even paid the state government an official visit. On the other hand, they have no issues with the government of Telangana. He slammed Tollywood for having not even an iota of respect towards the government of Andhra Pradesh.
Pawan Kalyan joined politics more than a decade ago with Jana Sena Party. In 2024, he played a pivotal role in terms of bringing TDP back to power in the bifurcated state of Andhra Pradesh. JSP won 2 seats in the Lok Sabha, while they clinched 21 seats in the Legislative Assembly elections. As a consequence, Pawan Kalyan was awarded the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
Pawan Kalyan is currently winding up his pending projects as an actor. He will be seen in three movies, viz. the historical fiction Hari Hara Veera Mallu, the gangster drama They Call Him OG, and the action drama Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
