Retired Tamilnadu transport corporation employees are on a strike as the government didn’t provide them the pension for February. When the retired employees met the transport minister, last month, he assured them that the entire pending amount would be deposited in their account on or before 15th March. But, as they didn’t get any single paisa from the government, the former Transport employees started their protest. Following the protest in Chennai, they started the strike in Trichy too. Nearly 200 people captured the Sona Meena depot, Dheeran Nagar depot and Malaikottai depot and not allowing the local buses and the outstation buses. Nearly 500 buses are blocked and the public is affected.
