Anumol plays a pivotal role along with veteran Sathyaraj in the film Oru Naal Iravil. ONI is the Tamil remake of Shutter in Malayalam and is directed by Editor Anthony. The producer is Director Vijay. Anumol has earlier appeared in Thilagar, Raamar and Kannukullae. Here is the gist of her chat with a leading Tamil film website. She met director Vijay on a flight, and he later called her to see if she was interested in a role in the Tamil version of Shutter. She had seen the Malayalam film many times but was unsure if she could do such a heavy role.
But Vijay is a motivator, and he encouraged her to do it. She also learnt that Director Mathew of Shutter had referred her name. Most of her scenes were with Sathyaraj, and she found him to be a legend. He was supporting and caring and taught her dialogues. He even discussed the next day’s scenes with her. On her part, she also talked about her projects and sought his advice. Director Anthony was one cool guy, sharp and smart. She found it easy working with him. She is a bit choosy about her scripts and projects. She prefers her roles to have some relevance to the film, and her character must have the necessary space for performing. The role should have value and respect. The team and comfort level was also important to her. Art or commercial was not a matter of concern to her.
