has taken it a notch ahead with her movie ‘All We Imagine as Light’, which has become the first Indian film in decades to have won the Grand Prix Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
Now director Payal Kapadia has paid a generous tribute to the vivid range of Malayalam cinema for her outstanding victory. She revealed how Malayalam cinema has room for every kind of film, irrespective of genre or approach.
According to Payal, there is ‘an immense range of movies being made in Kerala’. Even arthouse films, which don’t get as much support from other regions, are given their due prominence here. The audience of Kerala is really open towards every kind of film.
