After bearing the brunt of taking the audiences for granted, the actor cum producer opened up on why Bollywood is currently facing a crisis of a lifetime.

According to the actor, the Hindi film industry is not focusing on broader strokes like anger, love and revenge. Their Southern counterparts are massy and rooted, and focus on catering to everyone, from the multiplex to the single screen. This doesn’t happen in Bollywood right now.

Even Javed Akhtar agreed with Aamir’s approach, and remained optimistic about the future of the Hindi film industry. However, he stressed on making the films irresistible, and not making them suitable only for the OTTs.

Aamir Khan is aiming for a grand comeback to the silver screen. Since the last seven years, he has not seen a single success at the box office, his last successful movie being ‘ Secret Superstar Click to look into! >> Read More... ’, which earned more than 900 crores, though mostly from Chinese revenues. Since then, he starred in two major films ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, and both turned out to be box office washouts.
