Deepika Padukone To Share The Screen Space With Shahid Kapoor!

“Padmavati” is the upcoming film to be directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. To choose the titular role, Sanjay had a dilemma either to pick Deepika Padukone or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Later, the filmmaker chose Deepika, the heroine of his previous film, Bajirao Mastani. It was heard that Shah Rukh Khan or Hrithik Roshan would be the choice to pair Deepika. But, a source informs that Shahid Kapoor might be chosen to pair Deepika. It is heard that Shahid might accept the film, though his role doesn't have prime importance. As he and his wife Mira Rajput are eagerly expecting their first kid, he might take a paternity leave soon. For this purpose, Padmavati might be an ideal film. Vicky Kaushal was initially suggested for the role but, Deepika rejected him saying that she needs a big actor. Fawad Khan was approached to pair Deepika but, as he is busy in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with Karan Johar, he couldn’t commit with Deepika. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh plays Alauddin Khilji in this film whereas Deepika plays Padmavati, Rani of Chittor.
