On Thursday, HP presented a glance at how computers are progressing during the unveiling of the next generation of AI-powered business laptops.
HP launched a new line of AI-powered business laptops, prompting a race to enhance artificial intelligence and reinvigorate the PC market. These new laptops are built from the bottom up to accommodate workloads, including the new forms of generative AI in hybrid workspaces.
The latest EliteBook 1040 G11 is touted as the world’s most advanced business laptop. It is powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7 CPUs, packed with a battery life that lasts up to 21 hours. These chips also feature Intel’s Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which is used for AI acceleration, assisting features such as Windows Studio Effects and HP’s Smart Sense. The EliteBook 1040 G11 has HP’s Endpoint Security Controller chip, designed to make the computers sustainable against quantum attacks. This laptop is anticipated to launch in April 2024.
Other HP notebook lineups that have AI capabilities include the ProBook and Zbook. The ZBook lineup will use either Intel CPUs or the updated AMD Ryzen Pro processors. It also boasts Nvidia’s graphics processing units to invigorate intensive tasks like design and engineering.
According to some business insiders, the launch of AI-powered PCs will initiate a supercycle of computer upgrades, which will commence in the second half of the year since more AI-powered PCs have hit the market.
