Sony PlayStation 5 Slim version will be available in India starting on April 5. Sony’s latest gaming console packs similar specs as the PS5 but provides increased storage and a detachable disc drive. The PS5 Slim version was first launched in the USA in November 2023. The PS5 Slim’s disc and digital editions will go on sale in India this week.
In October last year, Sony reinvigorated the Sony PS5 lineup and announced a slimmer and thinner redesigned console with the same hardware specifications as the original PlayStation 5. It boasts 1TB of internal storage, which is expandable through external SSDs. There is not much difference between the original PS5 and the PS5 Slim with regards to looks, but the slim version has four side plates while the original PS5 has only two plates. One of these plates is for adding an external UHD Blu-ray disc drive. The PS5 Slim has two USB-C ports on the front.
The PS5 Slim disc version will be priced at Rs 54,990, while the digital version is priced at Rs. 44,990. Those who will buy the digital version can also purchase PS5 Slim’s disc drive separately. The latest console will be available at several retailers in India from April 5. Stocks will also be available at Sony’s ShopatSC website, Flipkart, Amazon, and other participating retailers.
