Rohan, a bright, sensitive youngster who dreams of becoming a writer someday has spent his eight years in a boarding school, from where he is unexpectedly expelled, and he comes home to Jamshedpur to his father who is practically a stranger to him. After returning home, Rohan is introduced to his half brother, Arjun, he didn’t even know he had, not knowing what’s in store for him. Rather than studying literature, his father told him to focus on engineering along with working at the steel factory that his dad owns against his wishes. This movie is about how he strives to forge his own life out of his given circumstances and pursues his dream of being a writer.
The film begins with a felicitation ceremony held by Dr. Bhaskar, who is a cancer specialist, who has just written a successful book titled “ANAND” (a melodramatic tale of a man with a terminal disease). The rest is a flashback. Anand, the title character, is suffering from lymphosarcoma of the intestine. Anand Saigal, who is aware that he only has a short time to live, but even during this short period he managed to bring about positive change in the lives of both the doctors as well as the people around him. He, however, appears to be cheerful on the outside and it is determined to extract as much pleasure from his remaining lifespan as possible. Dr. Bhaskar, his physician tends to Anand in his last days. After Anand dies, they can, however, they hear his voice which was recorded on a tape. This movie teaches to live life to the fullest.

Bhuvan, a local farmer lives in Champaner along with others. Like other villagers in India, the villagers of Champaner, struggle to get a good harvest, as they depend on a good monsoon.
