1. 3 Idiots (2009)

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, this movie involves two friends who go on a search for their long-lost friend. On this journey, they recall their good old college memories and their friend who taught them to live life to the fullest and changed how they'll impact the world. This movie was loosely adapted from Chetan Bhagat’s "Five Point Someone." The film changed many people's perspectives on the Indian education system. The friendship and bonding portrayed by Aamir Khan, Ranganathan Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi will remind us of our friend groups. This movie has a very high watchability rate.

2. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995)

Also initialized as DDLJ's plot involves Raj and Simran, who fall in love during a Europe trip. Raj feels disheartened when he learns Simran is already committed to marrying someone else but follows her to India to win her over. Shah Rukh Khan & Kajol starred in the lead roles, it is the longest-running Indian film ever.

3. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)

A coming-of-age rom-com starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin, and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles. The plot revolves around Kabir and Naina, who meet during a trip to the Himalayas and fall for each other but refrain from expressing their feelings. They again meet at their friend Aditi's wedding years later and decide to give their relationship a chance. The light-hearted narration of the story of love, friendship, and life made the movie popular with the youth, giving it cult status.

4. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)

The title translates to “You Only Live Once.” This movie is a road trip comedy-drama movie that gives a similar message. Kabir, Imran, and Arjun go on a vacation to Spain before Kabir’s marriage. This trip establishes an even stronger bond between them and makes them fall in love with life. The trio is portrayed by Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar. Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin play supporting roles in the film.

5. Queen (2014)

After Rani's fiancé calls off their wedding, she goes on a solo trip to Paris and Amsterdam, where she rediscovers herself and decides to live carefreely. The performance of Kangana and the script were critically acclaimed by feminists and critics. A young girl who gets out of her comfort zone and goes against all odds to enjoy her life sets an excellent example for our Indian women.

6. Wake Up Sid (2009)

One of the best coming-of-age films in Bollywood, it is the story of Siddharth, a rich brat who learns to be responsible from Aisha, an upcoming writer. Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sen Sharma play the lead roles in the film. The script by Ayan Mukerji and the actor’s performances are refreshing and worth a watch.

7. Dear Zindagi (2016)

A coming-of-age film, which also gets the concept of mental health right, is the story of Kiara, who experiences problems in her career, family, and love life and seeks help of a psychologist Dr. Jehangir. Kiara learns that she has to accept life's imperfections and gains a new perspective on life. The script and direction by Gauri Shinde and the performances by Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan make the film stand out.

8. Jab We Met (2007)

Aditya boards a train to escape from his depressing life, where he meets Geet, and they both embark on a memorable journey that takes an unexpected turn. Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are the lead actors in the movie. The story, written by Imtiaz Ali, and the lead actor’s performances make this movie worth not one but many watches.

9. Dil Chahta Hai (2001)

Nothing comes in between three college friends until they all fall in love and their different perspectives and approaches towards relationships cause them to part ways. The film portrayed Indian youth in a different way than other movies. Written and directed by Farhan Akhtar, the performances by Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Akshaye Khanna stand out.

10. Hasee Toh Phasee (2014)

The story revolves around Nikhil, who thinks he loves Karishma. On the eve of their engagement, Karishma's father disapproves of their marriage. Nikhil grows close to Meeta, Karishma's sister, while trying to prove himself worthy. Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra in the lead roles, this is one of the most refreshing movies to come out of Dharma Productions.
