This film portrays the poor treatment of AIDS patients and the LGBTQ community. The story revolves around Nikhil who is disowned by his family for testing HIV positive. And not just that, people assume he contacted this virus because he had sex with men. This movie questions law and humans who can’t seem to accept each other.

7. Margarita With A Straw (2014)

This award winning movie has a direct story that deals with cerebral palsy and bisexuality. The story revolves around Laila who tries her best to live her life to the fullest and to not let her cerebral palsy get in her way. Later she finds Khanum and they both fall in love. Not a very mainstream film, Cobalt Blue is an intimate take on queer relationships back in the 80s and 90s in India. The story shows the life of Tanay who is a queer college student. Things go haywire when he and his sister fall in love with the same boy. They both do not know the love of the other. This leads to emotional drama and heartbreaks.
