1. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

The film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is about a medical student named Naina Talwar. She hikes into the Himalayas with Aditi. She meets Avi Shiv and Bunny Thapar. They love traveling. Bunny gets admission to Northwestern University in journalism. Naina works in a clinic and on a travel show. Taran Khanna is a successful engineer. They meet sometimes. But no one is ready to give up their jobs. Naina neglects them. Then she leaves. On New Year's Eve, Bunny asks Naina to marry him. But she worries that he might later regret it. They all get on a conference call. They wish Happy New Year greetings.

2. Fanaa

The film Fanaa is about a blind woman from Kashmir. Her name is Zooni Ali Beg. She makes the trip to New Delhi with her friends to take part in a Republic Day ceremony. She falls in love with tour guide Rehan Khan on her last night. Zooni comes to know that Rehan was killed in a bombing. Her parents fly to Delhi to plan their wedding. But this does not happen. A special intelligence agent named Malini Tyagi has been sent in to evaluate the bomb blast's threat. Rehan is found alive. He is on another mission with the IKF seven years later. He did this for his mission. Indian agent kills him. He dies in Zooni's arms. She explains to her son that his father did this for his mission.

3. Jab Tak Hain Jaan

The film Jab Tak Hai Jaan is about Major Samar Anand, played by Shah Rukh Khan. He is an Indian Army. He disarms a bomb without fear or cares for his safety. Earlier, he was an NRI living in London. He was a street musician. He saves Discovery Channel filmmaker Akira Rai from the Pangong Lake in Ladakh. They fall in love. He has a motorcycling accident. Akira locates Samar after learning that she has retrograde amnesia to convince her to help Samar recover. Meera is given the option of choosing to stay with Samar or to watch him put himself in danger till he is killed. He defuses the bomb. Lastly, he proposes to her.

4. English Vinglish

The film English Vinglish is a story of a housewife who has a home business of making and selling laddoos. She is invited to her sister’s daughter’s wedding in New York. She goes early to help her sister, and later, her family joins her. She is mocked by her husband and her daughter because she cannot speak English. So, in New York, she plans to join spoken English classes using the money she made from selling laddoos. She loves to read English books to know the language out of love. She finally learns English. She delivers a speech at the wedding. Then everyone is surprised.

5. The Lunchbox

The film Lunchbox is about the loneliness of a man named Saajan, played by Irrfan Khan. His wife died earlier. Now he is a widower. The film is also about the loneliness of a housewife named Ila, played by Nimrat Kaur. She is married. But her husband is reluctant towards her. Now both loneliness meets. The man orders a lunchbox to his office. It is his meal. The woman cooks for him. It is her business. Now they start sending and sharing notes. In it, they talk about themselves. They become friends.

6. October

The film October is about a boy named Dan. He is doing an internship in a grand hotel. He is not good at his work. She always does mistakes. Shiuli is also an intern at the same hotel. She is just his opposite. She is very good at her work. One day, during a party, she slips from the third floor and falls onto the ground. That time he was not present. She suffers from severe injury. She is admitted to the hospital. The film shows Dan’s loneliness as well as Shiuli’s loneliness too. Later she dies. Dan gets a job.

The film Lootera is about a woman named Pakhi Roy Chaudhary. She is the daughter of Soumitra Roy Chaudhary. He is a landlord of Manikpur, which is in West Bengal. The film Barfi is about a deaf and mute young boy and his journey in life. Since he cannot speak or hear, he uses books to communicate. He falls in love with a woman Shruti who is already engaged, but later she leaves him and follows her marriage. After some time, he falls in love with a girl, Jhilmil who is autistic. Several events happen, and Jhilmil gets kidnapped. Later it was found that it was planned by her father to obtain money. Shruti is unhappy with her marriage. Though Shruti plans for her and Barfi to be together. But at the end he marries Jhilmil.

10. Dum Laga Ke Haisha

The film Dum Laga Ke Haisha is about a high school dropout Prem. He runs a small business with his father. His father arranges his marriage to Sandhya. She is a well-educated and ambitious woman. She dreams of becoming a teacher. But Prem is unable to accept his marriage of his wife being overweight. Due to the typical belief of society, he is embarrassed by her. But as they spend time together, Prem starts understanding her. Now they finally start developing love for each other. The film highlights the matter of body shaming and the expectations of beauty standards that our society has set for women.
