Superstitious much? Bollywood is the home of glamor, lights, action, and drama, with a fair dose of superstitions and beliefs feeding most of the B-town happenings. Here is a look at our stars and some of their stringent beliefs:

1. Actor Sanjay Dutt

Actor Sanjay Dutt is pretty steadfast in his numerological beliefs. He is extremely particular about the number 9, which he believes to be his lucky number. All the number plates on his car feature the number 4545 which adds up to his magic number. The Nawab of Pataudi Saif Ali Khan and his Begum Kareena are highly peculiar of the fact that the number plates on their cars add up to seven and three which are the sum of their respective birth dates.

2. Katrina Kaif

The ‘Bang Bang’ actress has to make a mandatory visit to the shrine of the Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer before the release of her films. She stirred quite a controversy when she visited the famous dargah before the release of ‘Namastey London’ in a skirt.

3. Ranbir Kapoor

The ‘Tamasha’ actor is the quintessential Mamma’s boy. He considers his mother, actress Neetu Kapoor his lucky charm. His car’s number plate bears the number eight which happens to be her birth date. On many occasions, we have seen mommy dearest accompany her son to his movie premieres and promotional events.

4. Salman Khan

If you have ever come across a die-hard fan of Bollywood’s ‘Bhai’, there is no way you can miss the blue bracelet which has now become a fashion statement of sorts. The blue sapphire bracelet is a trademark of the ‘Kick’ star who sports it because of certain beliefs. The bracelet is considered his lucky charm which also protects him. Salman is also particular about his films releasing on Eid each year. His films, Wanted, Dabangg, Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan were all Eid releases.

5. Vidya Balan

The beautiful ‘Parineeta’ actress acquired a superstitious streak about the color red after the release of the hit film ‘The Dirty Picture’ in which she portrayed the southern beauty Silk Smitha. Her belief surrounding the color also made the makers of the film ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ give into her insistence of wearing a red saree instead of the traditional green for her ‘lavani’ dance. The actress also prefers to use only a particular Pakistani brand of ‘kaajal.’ The brand goes by the name ‘Hashmi.’

6. Hrithik Roshan

The ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ actor has been the subject of controversies over his alleged affair with Kangana Ranaut since the last few days. His drool-worthy Greek God physique and dashing moves apart, the actor is also famous for his twin thumb. Although it is possible to remove it surgically, Hrithik has refrained from doing it since he considers it his lucky charm.

7. Ranveer Singh

The ‘Bajirao’ of Bollywood always sports a black thread around his ankle. His mother made him tie it since he used to fall often sick as a child. There has been no turning back since that time.

8. Shah Rukh Khan

The actor’s bike in the movie ‘Chennai Express’ bore the number 555 on the license plate. Ever wondered why?. Apparently, according to the star’s belief, he won’t drive a vehicle that does not bear the number 555. That is the same reason his car sports the number.

9. Ajay Devgan

Altering names to match astrological and numerological requirements, is not new to the glamor world. Ajay dropped the ‘A’ in his surname and went from Devgan to Devgn.

10. Shilpa Shetty

The Bollywood beauty was the co-owner of the IPL team Rajasthan Royals, which is now banned till the 2017 season. During the matches, the actress would ensure that she wore two watches on her wrist and sat in a particular position for her team’s success.
