Many popular stars started from scratch and have made it this far. We might remember the debut of well-known stars on silver screen but many of them started there career with a commercial, that we might not even remember. Here, we have compiled a list of stars that went unnoticed:

1. Deepika Padukone

Tough Deepika made her debut in the movie, ‘Om Shanti Om’ but this was not the first time Deepika flashed her million dollar smile at us. Her sparkling smile and to-die-for dimples were first seen in a Close-Up toothpaste commercial .This commercial became very popular overnight because of its very catchy jingle. The girl featuring in ad also caught many people’s attention but nobody knew that the same girl would take over Bollywood as a shining star.

2. Vidya balan

We remember Vidya Balan playing a remarkable role in very popular tv series ‘Hum Panch’ but does anyone remember Vidya in an authentic South Indian attires, selling Gits’s idli mix? Well, it was hard to recognize her in this commercial with that distinct accent and her genuine acting.

3. Shahid Kapoor and Ayesha Takia

Where you have seen this duo for the first time? In the movie, ‘Dil Maange More’? Nope, a very young Shahid and Ayesha appeared together in a Complan commercial. Who knew this complan girl and complan boy would grow up to be the beautiful ‘Ayesha Takia’ and the ravishing ‘Shahid Kapoor’.

4. Katrina Kaif

Katrina appeared in a Fevicol commercial long before her Bollywood commercial. It is a humorous ad wherein a recently married guy fantasies about Katrina but can’t reach her because of a box of fevicol beside him.

5. Salman Khan

Our Bollywood’s Bhai jaan, Salman Khan also did a commercial in which, interestingly, he wasn’t the lead in the commercial. There were several short stories in the ad that promoted soft drink, Limca. Salman Khan was a part of one of these stories, which he did before the release of ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’.

6. Gauri khan And Shah Rukh Khan

Long before D’décor, Shahrukh and Gauri had endorsed a commercial together. Yes, their sizzling chemistry can be seen in Cinthol’s commercial in which Shahrukh played the role of tired husband getting rejuvenated after taking a shower with the Cinthol soap. Apart from Cinthol, Shahrukh had also endorsed ‘Hero Punch’ bike, which many people might not know.

7. Rajkumar Hirani

The man behind the super hits of the millennium like ‘Munna Bhai MBBS.’, 3 Idiots, PK, etc. once was seen in front of the camera in a fevicol commercial . The commercial featured Rajkumar Hirani, where some men were trying to pull and break the plank and were shouting “Zor laga ke haisha“, which was also the tag line of the commercial.

8. Preity Zinta

Before Preity could charm everyone with her adorable dimples on silver screen, the bubbly girl was seen endorsing Perk’s advertisement. Preity was seen doing ‘thodi si pet puja’ which was also the tag line of ad. She appeared in this advertisement before doing her debut movie ‘Dil Se’ for which she won best debut award.

9. Aishwarya Rai

Before Aishwaya could be crowned as the World’s Most Beautiful Woman, she was seen in the Pepsi advertisement. She became very famous as the hot girl from Pepsi ad but no one knew that she would come to be known as one of the most talented actresses’ of her time.

10. Genelia D’Souza

Genelia appeared in Parker pen’s commercial along with Amitabh Bachchan and although Amitabh was the center of attraction of the advertisement, Genelia caught many people’s eyes.
