Anyone who has seen Bollywood movies knows that they’re barely original. And at this point in the cinema, we’ve accepted the fact that sometimes (mostly) Bollywood copies from Hollywood. Though taking inspiration is one thing, copying the whole idea is another. Here’s a list of ten Bollywood Movies copied from Hollywood:
It’s ironic that 'Hitch' was a copy of “Choti Si Baat” starring Amol Gupte, and then David Dhawan decided to make the same movie again, but this time with Salman Khan in the lead role. This plot must be attractive to directors.

Another Salman Khan movie, where the title says it all. Hollywood’s funny man, Jim Carrey, carries off the film beautifully, with Morgan Freeman playing God flawlessly. Amitabh Bachchan works hard, but the movie falls flat.

Hrithik Roshan’s legendary film, Koi Mil Gaya is already a legendary film in Hollywood by the name of 'E.T.' The Stephen Spielberg movie, 'E.T.' is the more sophisticated version of Koi Mil Gaya.

Vijay Dinanath Chauhan may be original, or so you may think, but his story is a copy. We all know it. The drug background and the revenge plot is quite familiar to us, courtesy of watching Al Pacino so many times in 'Scarface'.

The film is a classic Hollywood romantic-comedy, revolving around a wealthy heiress meeting a poor boy. She feels disdain towards him, but later falls in love with him.

The Bollywood comedy is a ditto copy of Robin Williams’ starrer, Mrs. Doubtfire. We may try to take out flaws from this copy, but we loved them both, so we’ll let it be.

A lovesick girl, a fake boyfriend, the girl falling in love with the fake boyfriend, and eventually, everything adds up. We don’t need to say anything else.

Karan Johar dramatized an otherwise beautiful movie by adding a heartbroken hero who was supposed to be jolly like Robin Williams’ character. The plot may have been the same, but the filmography was hundred times different.

Anurag Basu’s critically acclaimed, Life in a Metro, turns out to be a copy. No one is more disappointed than us.

Nothing else expected from Sajid Khan. The movie may have been hilarious, but the originality was lacking, and we cut points for that.

Bollywood directors need to consider the fact that their originality is derailing day by day, and soon there will be a day where Bollywood will be called fake Hollywood. We don’t want that, now do we?
