Bilal Sami is a versatile and talented director, producer, writer, and academic and media professional from the film and television industry. His birthdate is 23 May 1978. His birthplace is Pakistan. His father, Sami-ur-Rehman, was a policeman and international award-winning photographer and received the President Award for Pride in 2004. His mother is Mubushrah Sami, a specialist in watercolouring. Bilal studied at Cresent Model Higher Secondary School and Lahore Grammar School and graduated in Computer Science and Social Science from the Lahore Institute of Management Science.

Later. he earned a Master of Fine Arts in filmmaking from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. In KGCL Productions, they produced the sitcom Bhatti Ki Bas Ho Gayi (2006), the holiday telefilm Aap Jaisa Koi (2008) on ARY Digital, Yassu Panju Haar in 2009, and Yes Sir (2010) on ATV and the sitcom Dosti Aisa Nata in 2009 on Hum TV. In 2007, he directed, scripted, and hosted the children's program Kung Fu Kitchen on Wikkid Plus.

He used to write, direct, and produce short documentaries while studying at Ohio University. It was featured in the Alchemy Festival in London in 2016. In 2016, he took the project Aao Sunayein Kahani. He has also written songs Hone Do, Woh Kaise Ho Gi, and  Khamoshi. He helped creative director Michael K. Frith translate the series The Flying Tent, an audio-visual children's educational program. He has written the lyrics for Coke Studio Season 11 and the anthem Mein Iroda with Haniya Aslam. From  2012 to 2017, he taught filmmaking at Beaconhouse National University in the Department of television, film, and theatre. He was also the head of the Department in his last year at the University. He has been an associate producer at Imagine Entertainment & Television since 2022.
