The story starts with a family in Karachi. The family includes parents, their son, and two daughters. The two sisters are Aisha and Saira. Aisha is the youngest child who is a college student. Saira is a working lady. Her marriage is arranged with her paternal cousin, Zeeshan. Siara is happy with this relationship as Zeeshan loves and cares for her. Zeeshan’s sister, Sana’s marriage is fixed with Saira’s brother, Naseer. Zeeshan wants to get married soon. But Zeeshan and Saira’s parents want Naseer and Sana to marry on the same day. Naseer is unemployed. He earns by tutoring kids at home. He has been looking for jobs for two years but failed.

Naseer finally gets a job as a primary school teacher in another city. He shifts there and starts his work. He stays in a rented house. The owner of the house is Reshma, who lives on the ground floor with her young son, Ahmed, while Naseer stays on the first floor. Reshma is known as a rude and crazy lady in her village. She gets furious about the smallest things. Reshma and Naseer start on the wrong foot. Gradually, they form a friendship, and Naseer discovers why Reshama turned into a bitter lady. After Reshma’s husband died, she was thrown out of the house by her in-laws. Her husband had a government job and was compensated with a house and land. Her brother-in-law harasses her for marriage so that he can acquire her land. She puts on a mean demeanor to put off men. Sana does not want to marry Naseer because she feels they are very different. She is scared to confront her parents and asks for help from Naseer.

Naseer decides to break his engagement as he is in love with Reshma. Reshma falls for Naseer too, as he is the only decent man she has come across all these years. His marriage brings trouble in her sister’s marriage with Zeeshan. Parallelly, Naseer’s father, Ehsaan, starts a job as an accountant after his retirement. His boss, Azim, has a wicket wife. They have been married for ten years and have a daughter, Zara. His wife keeps suspecting him of having an affair with his secretary, Sadiya. She makes his home a living hell. Sadiya, on the other hand, is a sweet and understanding lady. Azim is fed up with the daily feud. He decides to marry Sadiya for real and leave his wife. His wife is furious and decides not to divorce him but make his life difficult.
