Majid Jahangir was a Pakistani comic actor and comedian. He was born in 1949. The place of his birth is Karachi, Sindh in Pakistan. His mother was from Hyderabad Deccan, while his father was from Punjab. He married Saba Majid, with whom he has four children. He has two daughters and two sons. One of his son’s names is Fahad Jahangir. Majid Jahangir began his acting career in the famous Pakistani Moin Akhtar’s show “Saat Rang,” which was aired on PTV. The show and its cast became famous around the country. Also, Majid Jahangir acted in the lead role of the show until 1985. After that, he went to the United States and lived there for the next twenty-three years. Majid Jahangir returned to Pakistan and resumed his acting career. In 2010, he appeared in Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s Urdu and Punjabi comedy television show “Khabarnaak,” hosted by Ayesha Jahanzeb, which was aired on Geo TV. He has performed in more than thirty-five shows and four Urdu films during his career spanning more than two decades.

Majid Jahangir also won the highest accolade in Pakistan, the Pride of Performance Award in the Arts (acting) category, for his work in “Fifty Fifty” in 1981. In 2020, he was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Medal of Distinction). Majid Jahangir’s wife died in 2020. Majid Jahangir had been suffering from critical health issues and partial paralysis accompanied by severe financial problems since 2016. He died on January 10, 2023, in Lahore, Pakistan. He was known as the pillar of Pakistani comedy.
