Zeba Shehnaz

Zeba or Shaheen is an actress from Pakistan who made her debut in 1962 in a movie called ‘Chiragh Chalta Hai’. Her movie did moderately well at the box office, but gave her a place as an actress in the competitive world of Bollywood. She was even a part of the Golden Jubilee Movie of Pakistan named ‘Armar’, directed by Waheed Murad. 

Zeba got married to Khawaja Rehmat Ali and then Sudhir. However, both her marriages failed. She later met Mohammad Ali on the sets of ‘Tum Mille Pyar Milla’ and married him. They remained together until he passed away due to a heart attack in 2006. She has a daughter named Samina Ali from her first marriage. She was legally adopted by Mohammad Ali after Zeba got married to him.  Her second release was ‘Jab Se Dekha Hai Tumhe’ which won many critical acclaim.

Later she starred in hit movies like Taubah, Heera aur Pathar Aashiana, Baghi Sipahi and Head Constable. Her first appearance in a coloured movie was in Najma and her first film ‘Rishtah hey Pyar ka’ was shot overseas. Due to her hard work and sincerity, which is very evident from her roles, she has won many awards including an award for ‘The Best Actress’ in Nigar Award.  Zeba had also played in a Punjabi and a Hindi movie. Mehndiwale Hath is her only Punjabi film.

Along with her husband Mohammad Ali, she had worked in a Hindi film named, “Clerk,” which was scripted, directed and produced and performed by Manojkumar.
