Amanullah Khan was a veteran Pakistani comedian who elicited raucous laughter from audiences all over the world with his outrageous humour.He was the master of the craft, which earned him the name "The King of Comedy." He was professionally called Amanullah. He was regarded as the best comedian, not only in Pakistan, but in the Indian sub-continent as a whole. In addition to being a comedian, he was also a Pakistani-Punjabi theatre performer and appeared occasionally on TV shows. He had performed 860 day-night theatre plays and held a world record for that.

Amanullah was born in 1950 in ChakRamdas, a village in Gujranwala, Punjab, Pakistan, into a common man's household. His family had a musical background; his ancestors sang songs at whatever small function that took place in the village. However, following his mother's demise and his father's falling ill, Amanullah had to start labouring at a very young age.

Most of his days were spent in poverty, and he had a sister to take care of. He would thus sell eatables for a daily income of a mere Rs. 5 to 10. He soon became an indispensible part of stage dramas because of his ability to effortlessly make people burst out laughing. Amanullah had an unmatchable personality. His witty humour and timely jokes gave him a supreme place among the comedians of the Indian sub-continent. Not a single show of his was reported to be dull.

He had the charm that could completely teleport the audience to another world, where there was no pain, only laughter. He has been part of many comedy shows and stand-up comedies throughout his career. In 2018, he was honoured with the Presidential Pride of Performance award for his unparalleled contributions to the Pakistani entertainment industry. He was also part of TV shows and portrayed different characters. Some of his popular stage dramas include "Disco Deewanay," "Muhabbat CNG," "Sohni Chan Wargi," "Chan Makhna," "Khirkikepeechay," and many more.

Amanullah has toured different countries and has performed there. Many great comedians from the Indian subcontinent regard him as their Guru and inspiration, and they believe they learned comedy by watching his shows.He was also part of movies like One Two Ka One and Na Maloom Afraad. He has also been part of many Pakistani and Indian reality shows like Khabarnaak, Khabarzar, MazaaqRaat, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, etc. In January 2018, he was hospitalized but later discharged. However, he didn't last long. He died due to kidney failure in Lahore on March 6, 2020.
