She was born in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. She has studied at Methodist High School in Kanpur. From Amity University she completed her graduation in Mass Communication, from Delhi. She moved to Mumbai to pursue her career in acting. She started her career by working in an ad agency for Hungama TV.

Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Kamna Singh is a South Indian actress who stars in some films. On asking about her role, she said with a mischievous smile that all she could say was that the audience would be seeing her throughout the film. Kamna had worked in the Tamil and Kannada film industry before and it her belief that performance always outweighs looks. This 24-year-old actress wants to make sure that she was being noticed not just for her looks, but for her performance. She says that when she signed Thikka, she wanted to give it her all. She lived for a few months for the shooting of the movie, and in those few months, she fell in love with everything in the city, from the matinee idols to the food. She even learned Telegu which wasn’t known to her when she had started working, but she trained for it and keenly wanted to master the subject. In an interview, she said that she had lots of favorite stars from Tollywood and added that she was a big fan of Ram Charan and his dance videos. She wishes for a chance to work with him. Among other stars of the industry, she likes Samantha, Pawan Kalyan, and Nayanthara. She is a very enthusiastic girl who is eager to do a lot more roles in the industry, and she feels that she is already a part of the industry.
