Pooja Balu is an Indian actress. She has mainly worked in Tamil cinema. Her debut came through a Tamil movie Mayakkam Enna. She was spotted by Geetanjali Selvaraghavan during a theatre show called Dirty Dancing. After seeing her, she recommended her to her director husband. This landed her to the role of Padmini in Mayakkam Enna. Mayakkam Enna is a musical drama. In Mayakkam Enna, she had played the role of Dhanush's gangmate. Pooja has worked for Stray Factory, which she had joined in 2010.
She had gone into depression after her first release as she wasn't getting roles but was only being asked for character roles.
