Hema’s original name is Krishnaveni. She was born in Razole, East Godavari (Dist.), Andhra Pradesh. She studied up to 7th standard only. Because of various reasons she discontinued her studies. She got married in 1993 and her husband’s name is Syed Jaan Ahmed.

Hema is a Telugu actress. She has acted in various roles in more than 250 films. She entered film industry with the film Ayyappa Swami Mahathyam in the year 1989. She has acted as character artist and comedian. She was interested in films since her childhood. She got the chance to act in films with help of junior artist supplier Rangaa. In her early days, she did small roles. Then she got the chance to act in Ram Gopal Varma’s . Sridevi is heroine of this film. Hema has acted as Sridevi’s friend in this film. With this film she got popularity. After marriage, she took 7 years break and gave a reentry with the film Murari. Some of her prominent films include- Muddula Mavayya which was released in 1989 and directed by Kodi ramakrishna,

Hema has done some TV shows also. She has participated as judge for the show Comedy club on Zee Telugu. She hosted a reality show called Mirchi Masala.
