Sanchitha Poonacha

Sanchitha Poonacha is an Indian Theatre and Film Actress who predominantly works in the Tollywood film industry. She was born on 26 July 1995 in the city of Bengaluru in Karnataka. Sanchitha Poonacha’s father’s name is C.K. Poonacha and he used to be a state and national level sportsman. He is a planter and plays golf. Inspired by her father, Sanchitha Poonacha also used to play golf during her school days. As an adult, she practices and teaches yoga and trains in parkour.

Sanchitha Poonacha’s mother’s name is Sunitha Poonacha. She used to be a homemaker as well as take tuitions for school children. Sanchitha Poonacha also has an older sister named Nishmitha Poonacha whom she is very close to. Sunitha Poonacha was interested in acting and films from a young age because she and her sister would spend a lot of time dressing up and choreographing dances to film songs. They would also go together to watch any new film releases in the theater.

The actress completed her schooling at Frank Anthony Public School in Bangalore. After that, she completed her junior college at Jyoti Nivas College. Sanchitha Poonacha initially pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture. However, she quit after realizing that it was not something she wanted to do with her life. Sanchitha Poonacha then joined Christ University and completed her Bachelor’s degree with a triple major in Media, Literature and Theatre Studies. The actress made her debut in the film industry soon after graduating in 2021. Her first film was Jayanth Gali’s  ‘Love Life and Pakodi’ where she played the role of Rheya. Before becoming an on-screen actress, Sanchitha Poonacha used to act in theater plays. She is a professional theater actress and used to act in many plays across Bangalore, such as ‘Cardamom’ (2017), ‘Between Best Sellers’ (2018), and ‘Six Dead Queens’ (2019). She claims that her experience and training in theater have helped her form a sense of individuality and keep her grounded and help shake away inhibitions. Besides acting, Sanchitha Poonacha is also a dancer and has studied Kathak up to grade one.
