Yugandar Deshpandey is a writer belonging to the Marathi Community. Almost all of his plays and stories are primarily written in Marathi. Yugandar is an engineering dropout who started writing in Marathi mostly because he found an absence of Marathi plays and stories. He never wanted to pursue this professionally, but writing was something that came naturally to him. Since the time he was in school, he has been fond of reading and exploring Marathi literature. He belongs to the town of Pandharpur and stayed in Pune during his high school years. Later on, he shifted to Mumbai and has been working as a casting director for the past one year.
He started Antarnag, which used to be an event where he along with his friends, all amateur writers, used to narrate stories, poetry, and prose written by them. Since then Antarnag has grown to be a large-scale foundation. The first ever play written by him was `Avyaktam’ which means something unexpressed. All his stories and plays are a little unconventional and revolve around dark themes like death. He gained a lot of recognition as the writer of the Marathi movie Colorphool released in the year 2021.
