Yashwant Dev was a Marathi poet and composer. He was born on 1 November 1926 in Maharashtra. He started learning music at a very young age. His father taught him music and sitar. After a few years, he made his debut on All India Radio and started working for Akashwani's Nagpur station in the 60s. Later, he also launched a TV program named Bhavsaragam, which made him a known face in the industry. Some of his best poetry includes Are deva tuzi mule ka re bhandtat, Ashi dhara ase gagan kadhi disel ka?, Aayushyat kjup choukati pahilya, Tu najarene ho mhatale pan, Priya aaj mazi mazi nase sath dyaya, etc. Apart from poetry, he has also given his music in songs like Akherche yetil mazya, Ambarat najukashi, Aaj rani purvichi ti, Karite jivanachi bhairavi, Kahi bolayache aaheKeushna udavu nako rang, etc.
