Makarand Mane is a celebrated Marathi film director who has won many national awards for his work in Marathi cinema. On 22nd January 1984, he was born in Pandharpur, Maharashtra. He completed his schooling from Atluj and then went to Manashakti Prayog Kendra in Lonavala, a city near Pune, Maharashtra for his junior college studies. Ringan won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi at the 63rd National Awards.
He was awarded the Filmfare award for Best Debut Director and Best Story for Ringan. In addition, Mane was given the Director's Vision Award at the 14th Stuttgart Film Festival & Ringan was an entry in the 19th International Children's Film Festival of India. Mane’s directorial endeavors have been quite impressive. One of his notable works, Youngraad, beautifully conveyed the importance of education. It’s worth mentioning that Youngraad became the first Marathi production of Phantom Films. Mane continued to excel in his craft with his subsequent directorial ventures – Kaagar, Soyrik, and Baaplyok.
