Sonali got her first lesson in music from her parents. She studied at MR Sarda Kanya Vidyamandir. She graduated in computer science from HPT Arts and RPK Science College. She also holds a Master's in Computer Management from JDC Bytco Institute of Management Studies and Research. At five, she started learning Marathi songs from her father.

At seven, she began formal training in Hindustani Classical Music. Her first was a stage performance at eight for the Marathi folk Lok Ramayan and Ethic Ramayana Song with Late Shri Shahir Vitthal Umap and Shri Jaywant Kulkarni. At ten, her first song on the album, Gauya Nachuya Part I, was recorded at Radiowani Studio and composed by Shrikrishna Chandratre. Her father also gave her the training of playback singing and light music. Shalini Naik of Nasik trained her in classical music. She also received training from the Late Shri Prabhakar Pundit in Pune. She also studied music from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai. Her songs are recorded in Hindi, Rajasthani, Sindhi, Marathi, and Gujarati languages.
