Shrirang Bhave

Shrirang Bhave is a professional singer, actor and vocalist in the Marathi cinema. He was born on February 27, 1987, at Sankalp Hospital in Nagpur, to Sh. Rajendra Bhave (Violinist) and Smt. Sarita Meera. He inherits his full name Shrirang Rajendra Bhave from his father. He has a sister, Shruti Bhave Indian classical violinist and singer Shruti Bhave >> Read More... , who is also a vocalist and violinist. He is married to Bhakti Athavale. He completed his schooling from Thakur Vidya Mandir High School, Kandivali East and graduated with BSc in Biotechnology at Thakur college of Science and Commerce, Maharashtra. He pursued his MSc from Institute of Clinical Research India in Mumbai.

He submitted his thesis on Acupressurre and Mudra Therapy and is a certified Acupressure Therapist at Acupressure Research Training and Treatment Institute, Rajasthan. He evinced his talent on television in Doordarshan Sahyadri’s channel “Maharshtra Sangeet Ratna”, a singing reality show and bagged the runner up spot. He was also a part of “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” singing show that aired on Zee Marathi in 2010. The show helped him reach a wider audience. He participated in the show “Sur Nava Dhyas Nava”. It is a Marathi musical show that aired on Colors Marathi. He has been awarded with “Swararaj Chhota Gandharva Smriti Yuva Puraskar” in 2011; this award is issued by Balgandharva Sangeet Rasik Mandal, Pune; “Vasantrao Deshpande Yuva Purskar” in 2012, and “Pt. Ram Marathe Natyasangeet Scholarship". He has also recorded some traditional Sanskrit Verses for a Government Android app that envisage to document Indian Traditional texts and verses and make them availabe as an open resource material.

Along with singing Shrirang is also a “cuisine connoisseur” and this can be known from the fact that he is a homechef and owner of “Rangaa’s Kitchen” from where he supplies his traditional and new recipes.
