Kate began his career in the acting arena as an actor.  While he was still pursuing graduation, the producer stepped foot in theatres. Besides acting, he would also be involved in the management of the plays. His experience and expertise led to his being promoted to the role of Head Coordinator for several events. Later he was further elevated to the position of an executive producer for plays and daily shows. Aside from that, Onkar has also helmed the research team for a reality show based on the lives of ordinary people.

Apart from being the helmsman for shows, he also has the experience of working as the program head of a nongovernmental organization. His proficiency in handling the affairs of those projects and skills as an actor in his early life has gone a long way towards becoming an accomplished producer. Kate’s current engagement is a project called Maza Hoshil Na. Maza Hoshil Na is a television series produced by Ocean Films Co. Pvt Ltd and aired on Zee Marathi.
