Maithili Thakur is a famous Marathi personality who is a professional actress, politician, social activist, reality-star and producer. She is popularly known as ‘Chhabu’ in the rural areas of Maharashtra. She was born on 25th January 1980 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She had earned a Master’s degree in Hindi Literature from Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai. Her tendency to act was prevalent since her teenage and she used to perform in street-plays while festivities inside her society. She gradually moved onto theatre plays and made her way to the television. This talented personality is also professionally trained in horse riding, swimming and martial arts.

She had practiced Karate for over 6 years. Additionally, she is highly trained in multiple dance forms like Bharatnatyam, folk, filmy and Lawaani. Maithili is known to have done more than 36 Marathi and Hindi serials. Her first Hindi serial was “Hoshiyar: Sahi Waqt Sahi Kadam”(2016). Her first on screen appearance was through a Marathi movie called “Aai Mala Maaf Kar”(2006). She also produced her first Marathi film called “Chabu Weds Babu”, after which she went on to produce 7 more Marathi films. She appeared in the reality show “Big Boss Marathi(Season-2)” in 2019. She was described as a cool minded and polite person compared to the other contestants in the House.

She had been honored with “Vishesh Lakshawedhi Abhinetri Award”for the Marathi movie “Aadhar Stambh”. Maithili became a representative of Bharatiya Janata Party when she found that she is inclined towards politics for the better cause of the nation. She frequently organizes entertainment programs for the Indian Army. She was elected as the member of the Maharashtra State Censor Board in 2017 and was later elected as the CEO of that Board.
