Ashwini Shende is a Lyricist and a writer in the Marathi television and film industries. Ashwini completed her studies at the Sathaye College in Vile Parle, Mumbai. This college was fondly called the “Parle College” by the people in Mumbai. She was born and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra. After completing her education in literature, she worked as a journalist in “The Indian Express.” Her passion for poetry and writing made her quit the job and enter the Film and television industry. “Kalat Nakalat” is a serial based on a woman’s life stuck between the dominating nature of her father and the person she loves. This title song was one of the best works of Ashwini to date. Ashwini has also penned the lyrics of the title song of Hindi serial “Mujhse Kuchh Kehti Yeh Khamoshiyan,” telecasted on Star Plus. Ashwini has also written the dialogues and screenplay from movies like; Mumbai Pune Mumbai 2, What's up Lagna, and Deva Ek Atrangee. Among these, her work in the film “What's Up Lagna” was a huge hit. This movie revolves around two individuals with contrasting characters who fall in love by chance and how both the lead characters face the problems that come to their way post marriage.

Ashwini has also penned the lyrics of the songs for movies like; Miss U Miss, ReadyMix, College Diary, Triple Seat, and Tula Kalnnaar Nahi. She has also penned the song "Saath De Tu Maala" for the Marathi romantic drama film "Mumbai Pune Mumbai 2." This movie is about two youngsters from different cities. They plan to get married but later have second thoughts about it after learning about their families. Ashwini penned the script and lyrics for this Marathi movie. The entire film was a big bang for the Marathi audience.
